A small plane carrying six people dipped and crashed Sunday afternoon by a runway in Weld County.

Nobody was injured, said Matt Turner, a spokesman for the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and local firefighters responded to the crash, near the intersection of Weld County roads 16 and 41 and the Platte Valley Airpark.

They determined the plane, a twin-engine Beachcraft Baron 56TC, was taking off. It lost altitude and landed abruptly, Turner said.

Federal agencies were notified and will handle further investigation.
