A pedestrian was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a light rail accident northeast of downtown Denver.
The serious injury accident happened at the 20th and Welton streets RTD light rail stop, according to a 2:44 p.m. Denver Police Department Twitter post.
The injured man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The victim was on the platform when he apparently fell, police said, striking the light rail train, which was moving.
The man suffered head injuries in the accident.
