A former Colorado Springs homicide detective accused of having sex with a crime victim was sentenced Monday to four years of probation for attempting to influence a public servant.
Paul Patton, 40, was also ordered to complete 300 hours of community service, prosecutors say. He had pleaded guilty to the felony charge.
Patton admitted to official misconduct following his on suspicion of having sex with a victim in an ongoing kidnapping case.
A 15-year veteran of the Colorado Springs Police Department, Patton . He was initially placed on paid administrative leave.
