A Colorado parolee serving time for robbery and drug abuse has been captured after he escaped while being transported in Denver, authorities say.
Benjamin Knight was arrested 12:35 p.m. Thursday following his escape late in the morning near 46th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, police say.
Denver SWAT team members arrested Knight, said Mark Techmeyer, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, which used a K-9 to help track down Knight.
Knight is currently in custody, said Adrienne Jacobson, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Corrections.
DOC Executive Director Rick Raemisch thanked all agencies involved for “their hard work toward the successful apprehension of this parolee,” according to a news release by Jacobson.
