IHS Inc., the Douglas County-based business information and analytics provider, has finalized its .
OPIS, has covered petroleum news since 1977 and now manages a massive database of global oil prices, will remain headquartered in Gaithersburg, Md., IHS officials said Thursday. OPIS should help to further diversify IHS’ energy portfolio, officials said.
OPIS, which employs 290 people, previously was owned by UCG.
The OPIS deal followed , a Canada-based company that specializes in providing vehicle history, appraisal and valuation information.
