PHOENIX —This is the stuff of storybooks.

Rockies rookie shortstop Trevor Story hit a two-run home run in the first inning Wednesday afternoon against Arizona to become the first player in major-league history to hit a home run in the first three games of his career.

It also was the fourth home run in the first three games of Story’s big-league career, something no player has done in modern baseball history (since 1900).

WATCH:

Story’s home run on Wednesday came off Arizona lefty Patrick Corbin. Story hit a 1-0, 92-mph fastball.

Story hit two home runs off Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke in his major-league debut on Monday in the Rockies’ season opener.

He hit another homer on Tuesday night off of Arizona’s Shelby Miller.
