
More than 400 national parks and monuments — including four in Colorado — will offer as part of the centennial celebration of the National Park Service.
National Park Week also like Junior Ranger Day (April 16) and opportunities to on Earth Day (April 22).
The include Rocky Mountain National Park, which covers 415 squares miles and more than 300 hiking trails; Mesa Verde, with its thousands of archeological sites; Great Sand Dunes, which offers a diverse landscape and even “sand sledding”; and Black Canyon of the Gunnison, where the river has carved through rock over millions of years.
National monuments in Colorado include Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction; Dinosaur National Monument across the state border from Vernal, Utah; and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument near Colorado Springs.
