Aldo Svaldi provided an enlightening article relative to the extent to which retirees can live on Social Security in various places around Colorado. What he failed to mention is that Social Security was never, never, never, never, never intended to be the sole source of income for retirees. Its intent was and is to supplement personal savings or other retirement programs. Too many people do not realize this until it is too late. We need to pound this into the heads of all high school students.
