Jeffco sheriff investigating possible kidnapping; man reportedly told girl “come with me”

A 9-year-old girl in south Jefferson County reported a man touched her shoulder Monday night and said “Come with me,” but she ran inside her home and immediately told her parents.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attempted kidnapping reported at about 8 p.m. Monday in the 10000 block of West Grand Avenue, which is near the intersection of Kipling Street and Belleview Avenue.

The man is being described as white with tanned skin, 6 feet tall with a thin to medium build and tattoos on both arms. One tattoo on the left arm near or above the elbow is of a red skull.

According the the sheriff’s office, the man was wearing a green baseball cap with white letters, a red shirt, torn blue jeans and black shoes and was driving a newer, bright red, four-door sedan.
