Re: Oct. 21 Chuck Plunkett column.

Chuck Plunkett is on target. I would continue his argument with the point that it is time for a third party, since both of the major parties have chosen to be dominated by the right and left wings of their parties. Where is the vast center of the public spectrum?

I have two thoughts:

First, Colorado’s Propositions 107 and 108 (which would create a Colorado presidential primary and would allow unaffiliated voters to participate in primaries) should be supported to allow a larger number of Coloradans to vote in primaries. Many of those who don’t vote in the primaries are either independents or unable to attend party caucuses. Insuring that they have an opportunity to vote will, perhaps, improve the ballot choices in future years.

Second, as I said earlier, I think it is time for a third party. For lack of another name, I would call it the Center Reality Party. Since both of the other major parties seem to have so much difficulty with reality, perhaps bringing some common sense, logic and reality-based thinking to play would make a difference.
