Two people died and three suffered serous injuries Tuesday in a one-vehicle, roll-over near Bennett.

The crash happened before 4 p.m. on East 38th Avenue near Penrith Road, said Nate Reid, a State Patrol spokesman.

The vehicle was headed west at a high speed on a dirt road when the driver lost control. The vehicle rolled multiple times, ejecting some from the wreckage, Reid said.

Two males died at the scene. Reid said the driver was a male.

One person was taken by helicopter to University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. Two others were taken by ambulance to the same hospital, Reid said. All injuries are serious.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors. Excessive speed is a likely factor, Reid said.

The names of those involved were not released. An investigation is ongoing.
