Adams County authorities have identified the 31-year-old Lakewood man near a large apartment complex in Thornton.
Steven Douglas Green was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting about 3:45 a.m. Monday on a road near building six of the Renaissance 88 Apartments, 368 E. 88th Ave.
The county coroner says his cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
Jaron Trujillo, 27, was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder in the slaying.
Persons of interest were released on no charges and a subsequent arrest of 31 year old Jaron Trujillo of Denver was made for Homicide.

A motive of the shooting is under investigation. Police say witnesses indicated that they overheard an argument before hearing gunshots.
