Authorities ID man killed in southwest Colorado crash with CDOT snowplow

Authorities have identified the 50-year-old man when the Dodge pickup truck he was driving crashed into a Colorado Department of Transportation snowplow.

Dennis Wilson, of Cortez, lost control of his 2003 Dodge 2500 truck at about 1:45 p.m. as he headed north on Colorado 184 in Montezuma County, according to the Colorado State Patrol. He was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital in Cortez where he was pronounced dead.

The snowplow driver had only minor injuries.

The Colorado State Patrol says the snowplow’s plow was down when the head-on crash happened.
