The Colorado Buffaloes defensive front sacked the opposing quarterback 19 times over 12 games last fall. An abysmal rate that ranked 13th worst in the FBS. But help is on the way.
Alex Tchangam — a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end from De Anza College (Cupertino, Calif.) — committed to CU on Friday via Twitter.

Tchangam is projected to play outside linebacker in Boulder, , and chose CU over scholarship offers from Kansas, Boise State, Florida Atlantic and others. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining and an available redshirt year.
Tchangam’s performance last fall matched his Twitter handle (@RushingThe_QB) with 23 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. With a strong fall camp, he figures to be in the mix for playing time in 2018 after the Buffs graduated starting outside linebacker Derek McCartney. Tchangam can make his commitment official Wednesday when the regular signing period opens.
