The West Metro Fire Protection District responded to a fatal fire at an apartment complex Friday afternoon.
The fire, at the Vintage Place apartments at 10600 W. 38th Avenue, began around 2:30 p.m., according to Wheat Ridge Police spokeswoman Sara Spaulding.
An elderly man died in the fire, West Metro said.

Senior citizens reside at the complex. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The name of the victim was not immediately released.
