Former Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried, now with the Brooklyn Nets, was , according to 27east.com, a news site for The Hamptons in New York.
Faried, 28, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on Montauk Highway and charged with a misdemeanor — fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Southhampton Town Police told 27east.com that Faried was a rear passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint. Upon inspection, he “was found to be in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana.”
Two others — Taurean Knuckles, 33, and Atar Hajali, 25 — , according to ESPN.
Faried was released on $500 bail.
, “We are aware of the situation involving Kenneth Faried and are in the process of gathering more information at this time.”
Faried was a first-round pick for the Nuggets in 2011 after starring at Morehead State. In seven seasons in Denver, he averaged 11.4 points and 8.2 rebounds. He was traded to Brooklyn in July along with with Darrell Arthur, a protected 2019 first-round pick and 2020 second-round pick in exchange for guard Isaiah Whitehead. Denver would later waive Whitehead.
