Denver residents will enjoy dry and breezy conditions over the next few days but don’t be tricked. Cool and wet weather will descend on the metro area Tuesday and bedevil trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

Or so says the National Weather Service, which predicts a dry northwesterly air flow will produce warmth and gusty conditions Saturday. Winds reaching 40 mph will buffet the mountains and foothills and high temperatures will range from the mid 40s and 50s in the mountains to the 70s across the northeast plains.

Mild and dry conditions will persist through Monday, the NWS said. But on Tuesday, a system will drop south bringing colder temperatures along with a chance of rain and snow on Halloween and through Thursday, said the NWS.
