Denver police are investigating the discovery of ammunition at Hill Middle School on Monday morning, authorities say.
Authorities have not found a weapon, according to a 12:05 p.m. Denver police tweet.
Denver Public Schools security officers called police around 10 a.m. about the discovery, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.

Police officers did a cursory search for weapons while the school was in lockdown, Jackson said.
“We took the necessary precautions to make sure school children are safe,” he said.
No students of the middle school have been detained, Jackson said.
