One person was injured after shooting himself Tuesday afternoon outside a Walmart store in Westminster.

Westminster police responded at 2:52 p.m. to the store near the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and West 72nd Avenue. The man was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

“Everyone involved in this incident has been accounted for and there is not threat to the public,” investigator Luis López said in an emailed statement.

North Arvada Middle School, Thomson Elementary School, Swanson Elementary School and Two Roads Charter School were placed on lockout at 3:18 p.m., according to Jefferson County Public Schools. The lockouts were lifted at 3:30 p.m.
