One oddsmaker is giving the Avalanche a strong chance at bringing the Stanley Cup back to Denver next year.
Colorado has the fifth-best shot at 12-to-1 odds to win it all in 2020, according to Bovada on Monday. The defending champion St. Louis Blues are just behind them in sixth at 14/1.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are favored to win the championship at 27/4 odds, followed by a three-way tie for second between the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vegas Golden Knights — all at 10/1.
The Ottawa Senators are in last place at 250/1, an improvement from 300/1 after the odds were initially released after the Stanley Cup Final ended.
The Avs advanced to the second round of the playoffs, losing to the Sharks in seven games.
