The first question for Nuggets rookie Bol Bol at the team’s media day was predictable.
Exactly how tall are you?
“Like 7-1 or 7-2,” Bol said.
The No. 44 overall pick in this year’s draft spoke with reporters on a variety of topics Monday. Bol, the son of former two-time NBA blocks leader Manute Bol, appeared in nine games as an Oregon freshman last season before sustaining a season-ending foot injury. He has not been cleared to participate in preseason play.
“We’ve just been taking it slow,” Bol said. “There’s no complete plan yet.”
Bol signed a two-way contract with the team earlier this month, meaning he will split time between the G League and NBA. Bol is limited to 45 days with the Nuggets unless his contract is converted to a standard deal. But first, Bol must get healthy.
“Itap kind of like a check-step process,” Bol said. “Month by month, you check in to see how I am doing. But I think in the next month or two I’ll be able to (play) five-on-five.”
