With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Saturday’s game, the Rockies were 10-3.

PHOENIX — Kyle Freeland struggled in his third start of the season as the Rockies’ three-game winning streak was snapped in a 7-4 to the Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Saturday.

Freeland (1-1) gave up eight hits and five runs in five innings, including a game-winning home run to David Peralta in the fifth inning.

Colorado got on the board early after Nolan Arenado crushed a solo shot in the first inning for an early 1-0 lead. The Rockies powered to a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning after the bottom of the order scored three runs off of Diamondbacks starter Madison Bumgarner.

Outfielder Sam Hilliard had a highlight-filled day, going 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Colorado. Over the last five games, he’s hitting .529.

Colorado’s bats went cold after Bumgarner was pulled after the fifth inning, not able to tally another run in the final five innings.

The Rockies (10-4) fell a half game behind the Dodgers for the NL West lead. Chi Chi Gonzalez takes the mound on Sunday for Colorado.
