The 2020 Major League Baseball season is mere days away. With it comes hope for every fan base.
So, with everyone tied for first place right now, here’s how several publications from around the country rate the Rockies in their power rankings.
(No. 27): “The Rockies saw their win total plummet from 91 in 2018 to 71 in 2019, and the front office responded by sitting on its hands. They may still finish ahead of the rebuilding San Francisco Giants in the standings, but at least that organization seems to have a clear direction. The Rockies are utterly lost.”
(No. 24): “There isn’t much to like about an increased importance of bullpen depth early on here.”

(No. 25): “Three months ago they were looking at a last-place finish and the likelihood they would have to trade Nolan Arenado, so a 60-game season doesn’t look too bad, all things considered. Someone is going to put up goofy numbers over two months. Playing at Coors Field could help Arenado or Charlie Blackmon become that person.”
(No. 22): “Nolan Arenado was not pleased with the Rockies this spring, nor should he have been, as that team seems to have ratcheted up to contender status only to fall back to Earth faster than anyone could have imagined. They still have a collection of good hitters and some promising prospects on the way. But the same thing thatap always plagued the Rox is doing so again: pitching a mile above sea level.”
(No. 22): “As for the Rockies, well, Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story might put up some video game numbers playing a 60-game season with half their plate appearances coming at Coors Field.”
Meanwhile, oddsmaker Bovada has the Rockies as the 23rd-best odds to win the World Series at 150-to-1. The Dodgers and Yankees are favored at 15/4 odds. The over-under for Colorado wins total is 27.5.
