Denver will see cooler temperatures and showers Sunday with the chance for an afternoon thunderstorm, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder.

Under partly-sunny skies, the region will see highs of about 71 degrees, with an about 60% chance of rain before 7 p.m.

The rain and potential for storms will continue overnight and into the start of the work week, according to the weather service. Temperatures will creep up as the week goes on, but are expected to top out around 85 degrees on Saturday — nowhere near the triple digit heat Denver recently endured.
