With the South Platte river running alongside the area is a popular place for hiking, biking, fishing and other outdoor activities. Denver reached 100 degrees for the fourth time this year as temperature records continue to fall in light of a warming climate.
Four days of triple-digit temps means 2021 is now tied for fifth on Denver’s all-time 100-degree-day list, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Denver still has a ways to go to reach the sweatiest mark of 13 days over 100 degrees in 2012.
Climate scientists anticipate more days with higher temperatures as climate change worsens.
Denver (DIA) just reached 100°! This is the fourth time in 2021 Denver has reached 100° or above which is now tied for the fifth most in any calendar year. There will be another shot at 100° tomorrow.
