
David Roddy is dipping his toes into the NBA draft pool.
Colorado State’s star forward on Wednesday declared for the NBA draft via Twitter but added he will retain his eligibility to return to the school next year if he decides to not go pro.
“After talks with my coaches and family, I have decided to enter my name into the 2022 NBA draft while maintaining my eligibility for my senior season,” Roddy tweeted.

Roddy, 21, led the Rams to their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2013 and highest-ever seed at No. 6. CSU lost in the first round to No. 11 Michigan.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pound junior averaged 19.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 31 starts for CSU last season. He earned several accolades, including the Mountain West player of the year and was named to the all-conference first team. He was also an honorable mention to the Associated Press’ All-America team.

CSU is losing a pair of starters to graduation — forward Adam Thistlewood and guard Kendle Moore — as well as graduate transfer guard Chandler Jacobs.
