A driver was killed in a crash that closed the southbound lanes of U.S. 85 at 136th Avenue in the Brighton area for hours on Friday.
The driver of a Chevrolet truck headed north on the highway rear-ended a Toyota SUV at about 6:15 a.m., Brighton police said in a statement. The Toyota rolled over and off the highway, coming to rest on the east side of the road.

The driver of one of the vehicles that the truck crashed into was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Brighton Police Department said it’s not known whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
