Juan Ortega joined the South Florida Sun Sentinel in 2006 and is the metro editor, helping develop an array of in-depth news coverage across South Florida. He began working at the news organization in 2006, covering city government, crime and general assignments.聽As an editor, he has helped oversee coverage of local elections, the environment, storms and hurricanes, as well as real estate and redevelopment efforts. Ortega also is a co-creator of the Sun Sentinel's Felonious Florida, a true-crime podcast that debuted in 2018 and has returned with multiple seasons.
