Linda Wood, left, and Peggy Haste look at 14 dogs who were transferred yesterday, along with 16 other "adoptable pets," from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) to Denver's Dumb Friends League to make room at HSPPR's Colorado Springs and Pueblo facilities for animals rescued from the Black Forest Fire. Another 12-to-15 adoptable pets are being transferred today, and Dumb Friends League employees are on call to travel to Colorado Springs' animal shelters if needed.
