Before developing the land, Mitchell, along with co-workers and the Prairie Dog Coalition, created a new home for the critters in the enclosure closer to the lake rather than exterminate them.

Residential developers Ken Mitchell and Tony Vienna and a team of volunteers built a small neighborhood within their west Loveland community: a network of burrows and grassland for prairie dogs.

IVF 1 is the first bison calf conceived using in vitro fertilization, or IVF, at Colorado State University's Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory. IVF 1 is also the first bison calf in the world to be conceived using reproductive material from animals removed from Yellowstone National Park.
