Colorado wildfires: Firefighters at High Park Fire near Fort Collins battle weather Monday

A fire in the Rosevelt National Forest, about 15 miles west of Fort Collins, is burning across 59,500 acres and has destroyed more than 180 homes since June 9. The High Park fire perimeter, which is contained on the east side near the Horsetooth Reservoir and partially contained along the Poudre River at Colorado Highway 14, is shown in relation to the Hewlett fire burn area. The south perimeter runs along Buckhorn Rd. The west portion of the fire is burning through a large area of beetle kill trees. Ground crews plan to contain the fire along Pingree Park Rd. The map also locates some neighborhoods and subdivisons affected by the fire: Poudre Canyon, Soldiers Canyon, Whale Rock, Stratton Park, Paradise Park, Glacier View Meadows, Deer Meadow.
