ap Inc., publisher of The Denver Post and 49 other daily newspapers, announced a resale and distribution agreement Thursday with Yahoo HotJobs.

Want ads listed in Media News Group papers will appear on the Yahoo HotJobs website, and HotJobs listings will appear on Media News Group sites, based on job location.

“Our online agreement with ap further demonstrates the value online recruiting brings to local businesses,’ said Dan Finnigan, Yahoo HotJobs general manager.

Terms were not disclosed.

Publicly held Yahoo Inc. owns the No. 2 Internet search engine and is in a fierce battle for Web advertising with leader Google. Yahoo said this week that local businesses would be able to set up free websites through Yahoo.

Privately held ap, based in Denver, is the seventh-largest newspaper company in the country. In addition to its daily papers, it operates 121 nondaily publications and other media properties. The umbrella website for its 74 websites is www.newschoice.com.
