The new head coach of the University of Colorado women’s basketball team is expected to be on campus this weekend.

Just who that is likely will be determined after three candidates meet with incoming athletic director Mike Bohn and other CU officials.

Karen Morrison, the associate athletic director who is the head of the search committee, declined to identify the prospects Thursday, but all are believed to be women with head coaching experience. Mike Borseth, from Wisconsin- Green Bay and the committee’s first choice, turned down the job April 14 just hours before he was scheduled to be introduced as coach.

“The regents are meeting next Thursday, and I don’t think they meet again for quite some time, so we’d like to present them with our candidate at that time,’ Morrison said. “And not only do we have that motivation, but our team is anxious to get their new coach. So that’s a good deadline for us.’
