Byers range opens

After a seasonal closure to protect wintering deer herds from disturbance, the Byers Canyon public shooting range west of Hot Sulphur Springs has been reopened. Owned by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the range is free of charge and is open every day from dawn to dusk.

Volunteers needed

The DOW Aquatic Animal Healthy Laboratory in Brush is seeking volunteers to assist in a variety of duties related to research on fish and other organisms. For information, contact Danielle Hosler at 970-472-4337.

Pueblo youth archery

An event aimed at teaching archery skills to children from the ages of 7-16 is scheduled 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 7 at DOW’s Bighorn Archery Range in Pueblo. The range is located at the agency’s office at 600 Reservoir Road. For details, phone 719-542-6012.
