Denver boxer DaVarryl Williamson has been added to the card of Saturday night’s World Boxing Association heavyweight championship match between James Toney, the challenger, and John Ruiz.
Williamson (21-3, 17 KOs), a heavyweight who hasn’t fought since last November, will meet Derrick Jefferson (28-3, 21) in a 12-round match for the vacant NABO title.

Colorado State won’t bring in any women’s basketball candidates until next week.
Former Rams assistant Raegan Scott-Pebley, who started a program from scratch at Utah State, has been added to the mix of finalists, which includes Boise State coach Jen Warden and Kansas State assistant Kamie Ethridge.
CU wins at Big 12
The University of Colorado women’s tennis team advanced with a 4-2 win over Kansas at the Big 12 championships in Austin, Texas.
The Air Force men’s tennis team won during the first day of play at the Mountain West Conference tennis tournament in San Diego. Women’s teams from CSU, Air Force and Wyoming all lost.
CSU senior tops at Penn
CSU senior Loree Smith won the hammer throw at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
Smith threw the hammer 206 feet, 8 inches to win the event by more than 9 feet.
At the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, Rams senior Colleen Blair finished 14th in the 5,000.
