Reese acting too serious?

Reese Witherspoon’s former director has confirmed what unnamed sources have long been buzzing about: The “Legally Blonde” star was not a lot of fun to work with, reports MSNBC.com.

Robert Luketic, who’s currently directing the movie version of “Dallas,” said that he wouldn’t want Witherspoon to be in the film.

“Er, no,” he said. “Moviemaking is supposed to be fun.” Luketic also directed Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez in “Monster-in-Law,” and despite the latter’s reputation for being a diva, he got along with both. Not so for Witherspoon, wife of actor Ryan Phillippe.

“I did not bond with her like I bonded with J.Lo and J.Fo,” Luketic said, according to the London Express. “There is something impenetrable about that woman.”

Sills and Burnett at the Met.

That was the name of a TV special that once joined Beverly Sills and Carol Burnett on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera – an unlikely pairing of a singer talking and a comedian singing that resulted in a friendship lasting three decades.

Last week, the two stars were together again – this time to raise funds for multiple sclerosis, a chronic disease of the nervous system that afflicts Sills’ 45-year-old daughter, Meredith “Muffy” Greenough.

“She’s brave, kind, gentle and totally selfless,” Sills said of her daughter, a volunteer for MS causes across the country.

Luc Besson will direct a video promoting the Paris bid for the 2012 Olympics. The French filmmaker’s short clip will be shown during Paris’ official presentation to the International Olympic Committee, Paris bid member Arnaud Lagardere said Friday.

The 46-year-old Besson directed “The Fifth Element” and “La Femme Nikita.”

Paris is competing against London, Moscow, New York and Madrid for the Olympics.

“American Pie” star Chris Klein pleaded guilty Friday to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge, was fined $1,800 and ordered to perform 150 hours of community service. San Diego County sheriff’s deputies arrested the 26-year-old actor Feb. 5 in Encinitas, Calif.; authorities said he had a blood-alcohol content above 0.20, more than twice California’s legal limit of 0.08.

He and actress Katie Holmes, 26, recently called off their engagement after dating for five years. Holmes is now dating 42-year-old actor Tom Cruise.
