
Commission meeting
At its Thursday meeting in Avon, the Colorado Wildlife Commission will approve the numbers of licenses to be issued in the special drawing for deer, elk, pronghorn, bear and moose for the coming season. The commission will consider restricting horse use in certain state wildlife areas in northeast Colorado and also discuss draft regulations on migratory birds and waterfowl. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. at the Christie Lodge, 47 East Beaver Creek Blvd.
Greeley confab
As part of a regular series of meetings to involve the public, wildlife commissioners Claire O’Neal and Phil James will host a May 16 discussion of outdoor affairs. The 6:30-8 p.m. event will be at the Centennial Branch Library, 2227 23rd Ave.
River cleanup
The Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area is seeking volunteers for its May 14 community cleanup of the river between Leadville and Cañon City. Sign up is between 9 and 10 a.m. at the Granite Store on U.S. 24, the River Park in Buena Vista, the AHRA visitor center in Salida or the Sagebrush Campground on Highway 50 in Howard.
