Colorado Rapids midfielder Pablo Mastroeni was suspended for two games by Major League Soccer for elbowing the MetroStars’ Abbe Ibrahim.
Mastroeni hit Ibrahim in the face during a corner kick in the Rapids game against the MetroStars on Saturday. He wasn’t penalized at the time.
Mastroeni will miss the Rapids’ game at the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday and a matchup against Chivas USA on May 14.
