The May 14 opening of a Gander Mountain store in Thornton will feature a parade of local fishing authorities, which, if you’re looking to catch something that doesn’t involve an airline ticket, are the best kind.
It all starts with a 10 a.m. presentation by Marty Bartholo- mew on the best locations and methods to catch early summer trout. Next comes Shane Stalcup’s 11 a.m. fly-tying clinic, followed by AK Best’s 1 p.m. tying demonstration and book signing.
John Gierach will discuss his latest book, “Still Life With Brook Trout,” at 2 p.m., followed by Janice O’Shea’s 3 p.m. offering on local fly-fishing opportunities.
