Down the stretch
Just a little more than two weeks remain.
The Colorado High School Activities Association will release 32-team playoff brackets today for Classes 5A-4A girls soccer and 16 teams for 3A.
Upper classes of baseball are set for next week’s start of the double-elimination state tournament.
Today, CHSAA will release regional pairings for 3A-2A.
Girls golfers will complete regional qualifying this week. The 5A championship will be played May 16-17 at Fox Hill Country Club in Longmont, with 4A set for May 23-24 at the Cotton Ranch Club in Gypsum.
Track and field competitors in all four classes will have final rounds of regional qualifying into the weekend.
Boys and girls lacrosse teams will be into the first two rounds of the postseason.
And girls tennis players will embark on the second championship of the spring, Thursday through Saturday: 5A will be at Gates Tennis Center and 4A at City Park in Pueblo.
