Del Hock, the former chairman and chief executive of Public Service Company of Colorado, has been named chairman of the board of Denver-based Allied Motion Technologies Inc.

Hock, 70, is taking the non executive position because the firm’s former chairman, Eugene Prince, is approaching the mandatory retirement age of 75.

“There are no major changes,” Hock said. “This is really just part of the retirement program for Gene Prince.”

Hock has served as a director of the company since 1997, the year he retired from Public Service, which now operates as Xcel Energy.

Allied Motion Technologies makes precision motors for use in surgical instruments, heating and air conditioning controllers, and computer-chip manufacturing.

The firm reported net income last year of $2.25 million on revenue of $63 million, up from the prior year’s net income of $948,000 on revenue of $39 million.
