Berthoud – A man wanted for speeding led police on a high-speed chase late Tuesday along rural highways and Interstate 25 before having his vehicle spun out by a police cruiser.
William Chesser, 23, was pulled over for speeding in Boulder County around 11 p.m., said Master Trooper Ron Watkins, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol. No injuries were immediately reported.
“He took off on us,” Watkins said.
The chase lasted 23 minutes and took state troopers through at least two counties before ending on Colorado 56 at Weld County Road 5, which is between I-25 and Berthoud.
Watkins said troopers ended the chase by using “tactical vehicle intervention,” which involves using a cruiser to tap the fleeing vehicle on the side to spin out the wheels.
There was no immediate indication of top speeds in the chase and no word on what charges Chesser might face.
