Superbike: AMA superbike racer Vincent Haskovec, 31, remains in the intensive care unit of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital because of injuries suffered during the formula xtreme race Saturday at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
He has a punctured lung, broken ribs, broken collarbone and a back injury. Haskovec, who was second in points in the superstock series, is scheduled to have back surgery when the swelling subsides.
In the superbike race Sunday, it was another Suzuki sweep with Mat Mladin leading teammates Aaron Yates and Ben Spies to the finish. Kawasaki rider Tommy Hayden nipped Yamaha riders Jason DiSalvo and Jamie Hacking in the supersport race. And in superstock, Yates topped Hacking and DiSalvo, with Jordan Motorsports rider Steve Rapp (Suzuki) fourth.
The AMA road racing series returns to Pikes Peak International Raceway this weekend in Fountain.
