A 4-year-old girl was snatched from behind her house Monday evening, prompting Denver police to issue an Amber Alert.
Diana Gabriella Sanchez was playing with a group of children about 6:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Canosa Court when a man in a red SUV drove up, grabbed her and put in the vehicle. He was last seen driving headed east on Center.
“We’re taking it very seriously,” said police spokesman Sonny Jackson. “It’s not a family situation.”
He said the children Diana had been playing with were not harmed.
Diana’s mother was in the house at the time of the abduction.
Diana is Hispanic, with straight brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. She was wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and red shoes.
The suspect is a white man with blue eyes, shoulder-length brown hair and a mustache. He was wearing a gray long-sleeved T-shirt rollled up to his elbows, blue jeans with knees ripped out and brown shoes.
He was driving a red, older Ford Bronco with silver rims and no back seat.
