Mike Neighbors and Bethann Shapiro Ord were named assistant women’s basketball coaches at the University of Colorado on Monday, effective immediately.
Neighbors and Ord come to Colorado from Tulsa, where they were assistants under Kathy McConnell-Miller, who was named CU’s head coach April 27.
Ord, 37, spent six seasons at Tulsa, where she served as the program’s recruiting coordinator and assisted with scouting. Her efforts resulted in three top-50 recruiting classes and one in the top 25. She helped land at least one player on the all-Western Athletic Conference first or second teams in each of the past six seasons.
Neighbors, 36, spent four seasons at Tulsa, where he coordinated scouting, scheduling, assisted with player development and served as one of the Golden Hurricane’s primary recruiters.
“Coach Neighbors is a great asset to me on the floor,” McConnell-Miller said. “Off the floor, his scouting and game-day preparation is second to none.”
