Getting your player ready...

When you play far from electrical outlets and don’t want to burden yourself with pounds of batteries, the Brunton SolarRoll ($170-$400, depending on wattage power) can turn sunlight into the juice you need to power or recharge your phone, camera or GPS batteries.

The company’s solar panel weighs only 17 ounces and can crank out 4.5 to 14 watts of power, enough to juice your laptop, sat phone, camera or even your car battery. The panel, made of super durable Tefzel, rolls up into a tube for easy transport. Multiple panels can be linked together to power the bigger necessities, such as the campsite disco ball or the fireside DVD player.
