Dallas – Carlos Ruiz scored in the 77th minute Wednesday night to lead FC Dallas to a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids at the Cotton Bowl.

Jean-Philippe Peguero scored the Rapids’ goal in the 12th minute for a 1-0 lead. Chris Henderson lofted a corner kick from the right over a wall of FC Dallas defenders, and Peguero headed into the back of the net for his second goal of the season.

Minutes later, Rapids captain Pablo Mastroeni left the game with a right quadriceps injury. His status will be re-evaluated today.

Colorado (2-5-1) remains winless on the road and plays Saturday at Chicago.

Tied 1-1, Ruiz took a pass from Clarence Goodson and scored from inside 5 yards for his fourth goal of the season. Goodson got his first point of the season on the assist.

FC Dallas’ Ronnie O’Brien tied the game in the 61st minute on a shot from 20 yards out for his third goal.

Ramon Nuñez crossed a pass to O’Brien for the assist and his first career MLS point.

The match is the only one at home for FC Dallas (4-1-3) during an eight- game stretch.

FC Dallas outshot Colorado 14-9, including seven shots on goal to only three for the Rapids.
