1Avalanche games: Nothing beats going to the Pepsi Center for the Avs-Red Wings game. With the NHL lockout, it has been great to watch DU win two national championships.
2Archery and rifle elk hunting in the mountains: The fall is a great time to be outdoors. The leaves are turning, and the ski traffic hasn’t started yet. My favorite spots include areas close to Del Norte, Steamboat Springs and Grand Lake.
3Platte River: I enjoy duck and geese hunting on the river just north of Denver almost as much as my black Labrador, Trigger.
4Vail: I love skiing and snowboarding all day at Vail, then hitting the Red Lion for beers after a long day on the slopes.
5Camping and fishing over Memorial Day weekend at Ruedi Reservoir near Aspen and Basalt: I grew up lake fishing in South Dakota and wasn’t sure how I would like the switch to fly-fishing. But now I’m addicted.
