Hear, hear for art
SOUND SCULPTURE|Artist Vincent Comparetto has created a sound installation – a kind of maze of hanging speakers in a darkened space. Tracks of music and soundscapes are interspersed with recordings by Remington Elementary School students and youths taking part in ArtLab. Tribute to muralist
ART EXHIBITION|David Alfaro Siqueiros might not be as well known as Diego Rivera, but that does not make him any less important. Along with Rivera and José Clemente Orozco, he was a member of Mexico’s great triumvirate of muralists. The Museo de las Américas is paying tribute to him with a small yet significant exhibition of his paintings and drawings, continuing through Saturday. Boulder’s big party
10K RACE|Some 100,000 spectators are expected to cheer on about 50,000 amateur runners at the 27th-annual Bolder Boulder. Considered one of the top road races in the world, it also is a moving circus of sorts with everything from belly dancers to bands among onlookers lining the race route and filling Folsom Field for the finish. An art or a science?
ART EXHIBITION|Art and science are hardly strangers, as this new exhibition makes clear.
