So what’s the first thing that happens when Jim Shore announces he’s going to retire as chancellor of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center? His picture shows up on a wanted poster.

Not to worry, though. It’s cool.

The posters weren’t in the post office. They were invitations to a fundraising gala at which the Denver chapter of ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) would pay tribute to Shore’s distinguished career.

Terri Biddinger chaired the western-themed event held at the Grand Hyatt Denver, and guests included CU President Betsy Hoffman and CU-Boulder Chancellor Richard Byyny.

Shore completed his residency in psychiatry in 1969. Before coming to Colorado in 1985 to chair the Department of Psychiatry at the CU Health Sciences Center, he headed the mental health office at the Indian Health Service of the Pacific Northwest. In 1999 he was named chancellor of the CU Health Sciences Center.
